Food for the Hungry

Our Brown Bag Ministry provides 50 bags of groceries for hungry families each month. Come help us welcome families the fourth Saturday of the month, or volunteer to pack bags the Wednesday before.

Our Food Pantry accepts donations to help neighbors through the in-between times.

5th Sunday Potluck Suppers are a feast for all! Please join us after worship on our occasional 5th Sunday services. Bring food to share if you are able.

Care for the Least of These

Through Family Promise we provide overnight shelter and meals for homeless families one week each quarter. Volunteers are always needed to cook, serve and stay overnight.

Our Caring Ministry provides love, care and support for our members struggling with mental illness.  We also offer care team support for Beloveds who are ailing or in need of assistance. You can get involved by bringing food or materials, providing transportation, or giving financial assistance.

Justice for the Oppressed

As a member of Alabama Arise we organize with low-income people to advocate for better state policies in the Alabama legislature.

As a member of Bread for the World we advocate for federal policies to end hunger in the U.S. and around the world.

In partnership with Greater Birmingham Ministries we serve people, build community, and pursue justice here in Birmingham.

Giving to Our Church’s Wider Mission supports the mission of our denomination, the United Church of Christ.

We also participate annually in the Birmingham MLK Diversity walk, Central Alabama Pride, and numerous other justice activities.

You never know what’s going to happen next!

Join us for countless acts of kindness and justice, organized and not, known and unknown.

Film screenings, advocacy work and discussions are ongoing. Many local peace & justice groups meet in our space.

Beloved runs on volunteer leadership and support. Volunteers lead the services, teach children and organize events. Feel free to step up, help out, and do what needs to be done.

This is God’s house – that means it’s your house.

Sign up for our email list to stay in the loop.
