April preachers at Beloved: Sunday nights at 6 pm

As Beloved continues our search for a pastor, we will welcome incredible guest preachers from our community to share wisdom, guidance, and encouragement for our lives.

Sunday, April 3rd: Rev. Katie Nakamura Rengers

Rev. Rengers is associate rector for outreach and young adults at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. You may have seen her in action at The Abbey, our neighboring coffee shop, or during our recent Palm Sunday processional!


 Sunday, April 10th:  Rev. Joe Elmore

Rev. Joe Elmore is a retired UMC pastor and HIV/AIDS chaplain. He worked for many years at Vestavia Hills United Methodist Church and Tuscaloosa First UMC. He has also authored numerous books including Jesus and Justice, Radically Inclusive and Highlighted for Life.

Sunday, April 17th:  Rev. Chris Hamlin
The Rev. Dr. Christopher M. Hamlin serves as Pastor of the 128-year old Tabernacle Baptist Church and the Director of the HIV/AIDS African American Faith Based Initiative at the 1917 Clinic at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.  From 1990 to 2000, Dr. Hamlin served as Senior Pastor of the historic Sixteenth Street Baptist Church of Birmingham. Sunday, April 24th:  Monica Dobbins
Monica Dobbins
Monica is a ministerial student at Meadville Lombard Theological Seminary and is currently interning with the Unitarian Universalist Church in Tuscaloosa. She has previously interned with Greater Birmingham Ministries in the office of civic engagement, where she helped Beloved and Birmingham-Southern students in an outreach project to register voters in the Avondale community.

Join us Sunday nights at 6 pm or Wednesday nights at 7 pm – all people are welcome and all people are celebrated as Beloveds.
